Self-circulation of symbol form |
회화는 외부현실(外部現實)에 대한 예술가의 내적반응(內的反應)과 내면세계(內面世界)를 상징화(象徵畵)된 조형언어(造形言語)로 가시화(可視化)하는 것이다. 1960년대 이후 개인의 관념적(觀念的) 사고(思考)와 주관적(主觀的) 논리(論理)에 그 본질(本質)을 두고 있는 모더니즘(Modernism)의 후위(後衛)에 새로운 성향(性向)의 예술이 대두되었다. 이는 인간이 외부 환경으로부터 느끼게되는 현실을 작가의 내적감성(內的感性)으로 해석하고 그것을 표출해 내는데, 형식적(形式的) 감각(感覺)이나 감정에 호소하거나 유희적(遊戱的) 순수추구보다는 내용을 지닌 예술로 그 특색을 갖는다. 상징의 표현기호(表現記號)로서 형상(形象)들은 구체적인 외양(外樣)과 함께 복합적(複合的)인 상징성을 띠는데, 당면한 삶을 예술에 반영(反映)하는 거울과 같은 의미의 통로로써 그 형상성(形象性)은 깊은 의미와 공감대(共感帶)를 형성한다. 또한 의미 적절한 형상과 독립된 색채의 상징적 의미작용(意味作用)으로 그 형상화 과정과 내용의 전달에 폭넓은 확산을 경험한다. 본 논문은 1996년부터 지금까지의 본인의 작품을 중심으로 현대사회 속에서 인간이 살아가면서 자아(自我)의 본질(本質)을 탐구하는 과정을 묘사한 것이다. 본 논문에서 상징화된 자아(自我)는 현대사회속에서 절대자(絶對者)를 의지하면서 살아가는 현대인들의 자아(自我)를 내포하고 있으며, 그들에 삶의 모습을 추상적 상징표현으로 묘사하고 있다. 상징주의(象徵主義)는 보이는 것에 머무르지 않고 형이상학(形而上學)적인 면으로 접근하는 방법인데 돔(Dome)이나 인체, 기하학적(幾何學的) 형상들의 상징을 통해 본 논고를 이끌어 가고자 한다. 그림의 주제는 '절대적 사랑(Agape) 안에서 본인이 성장하는 과정'을 묘사했는데, I부에서는(1996~1999까지의 작품) '절대자(絶對者)의 아가페(Agape) 안에서 자아(自我)의 성장'이란 주제로, II부에서는 여성이라는 인체를 절대적(絶對的) 모성(母性)으로 상징화함으로써(1999~지금까지의 작품) '현대 산업사회의 여성 안에서 자아순환(自我循環)'이란 주제로 작품을 하였다. 이상에서와 같이 상징적 기호로써 형상적 조형 요소들이 작품에 등장한 배경과 작품에 나타난 내용과 형식의 특성(特性)과 융합에 대해 고찰하고, 자아본질에 존재하는 인간의식을 살펴봄으로써 사회 순기능(順機能)으로써 예술의 가능성을 제시하는 계기로 삼고자 하였다. |

A painting is a symbolical formative art to express an artist's internal world and internal response from external world. There was a big change for Modernism which was based on individual idealism and individual subjectivism after 1960. It has particular contents to appeal artist's internal world and response from external world instead of describing art by pursuing pleasure with formal sense and formal feeling. A symbol is complex concepts with concrete appearances as an expressional sign of symbol. The processing of shape and notifying the concept of shape has a great experience of wide spread as a reaction meaning of symbol and as an existent meaning of independent color. I have performed this theory to describe the research process of moderns' self- awareness by my art performance from 1996 until now. I have performed this theory to describe moderns' life as an abstract symbol of art. The symbol of self in this theory indicates moderns' who rely themselves on God. This theory was performed as a symbolism not only visible site of art's view but also invisible site of art's view which was approached by dome, human body and the symbol of geometrical shapes. The first part of art performance has described as a " self-developing process in Agape from 1996 to 1999. The second part of art performance has described as a "self-circulation of the modern woman in the industrial society" by describing woman's body as an Agape love in God from 1999 until present. Finally, this performance has developed to research the form of formative art based on the harmony of performance circumstance, contents and formal characteristic, thus, I have tried to approach the possibility of social pure-functional art by the human consciousness through this art performance. |
